Autumn is a beautiful time of year in the northeastern part of the United States. This image was taken in the later part of September in Northern Maine of where Abol Stream in Baxter State Park connects with the West Branch of the Penobscot River. A portion of Mount Katahdin is reflected in the calm water.

I am new to Pixels and Fine Art America. My background is quite varied. I am originally from Maine. My early creative endeavors started with drawing or painting. In my early teens I learned to play guitar and write music. I performed professionally over many years. That love never leaves you, by the way. During the times that I was on the road, I picked up photography. It was a way to keep the visuals alive and to explore the different settings that I found myself in. Nature and landscapes provided much calm and inspiration.
